The Apple iPad Loses Market Share of Tablets

The iPad is still the best selling tablet on the market, but the market share of Apple fell 8.1% during the last quarter compared to the same period last year, at least according to data sent handled iPad IDC agency. Total shipments increased from 15.1 to 22.9 million units, but Apple's market share in this sector fell from 51.7% to 43.6%. Much of the ground lost the Cupertino company was won by Samsung which increased market share from 7.3% to 15.1%. Samsung shipments rose from 2.2 million to 7.9 million units last quarter. Asus has also made strides in this market, the company achieved a market share of 5.8% and shipments made about 3.1 million tablets.

A combination of "other" manufacturers, managed to increase its market share from 18.5% the previous year to 22.1% this quarter. This represents an increase in shipments of 5.5 million units to 11.6 million. Other brands also have seen their market share has fallen. Considering the figures shown in this report seems clear that the market for tablets continues to expand. Each day brings new manufacturers who are interested in this market and Apple is increasingly difficult to continue to dominate the market, a market that continues to expand, grow and add new users every time.
