Players spent more money on acquiring titles for your iOS or Android devices in the last quarter of 2012 than in the handheld video games. This is the conclusion reached by a study conducted by the firm App Annie & IDC Portable after analyzing the benefits to the App Store, Google Play, Nintendo and Sony for game sales. IDC reveals that during the year 2012 were downloaded more than 20,000 million games for smartphones and tablets.

Adding sales reported by game downloads through the App Store and Google Play (excluding product placement), they exceeded those obtained for the Nintendo 3DS, the PS Vita and PSP. The laptops were a strong increase in sales in December, coinciding with Christmas, but could do little to overcome the expense of users in securities for their smartphones and tablets.

So, it is not surprising that major game studios start to wager more for iOS and Android. For example, Epic Games, which is behind the series 'Gears of War', has stated on several occasions that have earned more money with their degrees of 'Infinity Blade' for iOS with 'Gears of War'.
