How much radiation emitted our iPhone?

When we are in a place with little coverage of our phone battery runs out faster. This in itself is already a problem, but it's not all that happens, it can also lead to an increase in radiation exposure that produces the device.

Exposure to electromagnetic waves emitted during mobile phone use can lead to numerous health problems, such as dizziness, headaches and possibly cancer. While not conclusive, some studies have shown a correlation between cell phone radiation and cancer rates, especially in children. But do not fall into catastrophism ...

For this reason the phones must be certified before being sold in the market. This is where the measures come into play the SAR (Specific Absorption Rate).

To make the measurements the phone is located next to the head in the normal position speaks, and reported SAR value for the part of the head that has received more energy. Its value does not exceed the norm of the FCC, which is 1.6 W / kg.

Here are some of these measures:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note II - 0.17 W / Kg
  • Samsung Galaxy S2 - 0.24 W / Kg
  • Samsung Galaxy S3 - 0.34 W / Kg
  • iPhone 5 - 0.90 W / Kg
  • Blackberry Z10 - 0.97 W / Kg
  • iPhone 4S - 1.11 W / Kg
  • Blackberry Bold 9700 - 1.37 W / Kg

As you can see the guys at Apple have shown improvement with its latest handset, but still far from Samsung. Touch homework in Cupertino, meanwhile ... stay away from the Blackberry ...
