The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Mini wants to beat the iPad

Is the power of the digital pen mightier than the sword? We check next month when, according to some reports, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 8.0, a tablet with Android 4.2 and a size similar to Apple iPad Mini.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 may have a secret weapon to defeat the iPad Mini

Next month could add a new Samsung Galaxy Note to the arsenal of mobile devices already in the market. SamMobile said to have discovered the specifications of an Android tablet called Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. The alleged tablet 8 inch size would have a very similar to Apple iPad Mini, with a slightly higher resolution and offer a key differentiation: include an S-Pen digital ink for activities.

The specifications do not include too much data reported inside. There is no indication of the chip that will carry the Galaxy Note 8.0. It's a pretty safe bet that it will take Samsung processor and is expected to take one of the new quad-core Exynos processor of Koreans, along with 2 GB of memory. The display is expected that a Super Clear LCD running at a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, slightly higher than 1024 x 768 resolution panel using iPad Mini. It is expected that the new tablet is released in both WiFi and 3G versions. On the software side, the system of choice seems to be the Android 4.2.

Samsung already has a tablet like the iPad size Mini, the Galaxy Tab 7.7. The size is about the same, but the actual user experience is better on iOS. This is debatable, of course, but we're not seeing that developers expect the larger screens and higher resolution to focus on Android tablet. Perhaps the only true differentiator between the two is the digital pen tablet. It may seem a delay having to use the stylus, but many users of the Galaxy Note 2 smartphone seem content with the use of this device.

Maybe buyers acquire Samsung Galaxy Note 2 thinking that this smartphone would not use the stylus, but soon they would realize that one of the most valuable things is his pen device, especially considering that Samsung has developed some applications excellent for using mobile digital pen. If the company continues to mature and add new applications to the Galaxy Note 8.0, could provide a reason for potential buyers of iPad Mini to consider buying the Samsung tablet in place. Everything depends on the use made of the tablet.

I am not suggesting that the Galaxy Note 8.0 will outsell the iPad Mini, a digital pen by itself will not get that way. However, Samsung seems to be the only manufacturer that is really trying to give something different to your Android tablet with an innovative hardware with good software, which I think gives you a better chance to compete against Apple's mobile products.

What do you think? Will the next Galaxy Note 8.0 to remove some market iPad Mini?
