Facebook Messenger is updated with voice messages

messenger 173127 Facebook messenger se actualiza con mensajes de voz

Facebook updates its Facebook Messenger app to allow users to send voice messages. The update is available for iOS and lets you send audio messages recorded one minute with the mobile.

Another interesting changes that added, reaches only a small group of users, is a limited test that enables the ability to make phone calls from the application to other Facebook contacts who have installed the program.

The event is open only to members of Facebook Messenger for iOS in Canada, but to perform well in a future update that will change the market for VoIP calls dramatically.

New in version 2.1:

  • Send a voice message when you have more to say.
  • Use Messenger to call your friends for free (for now only in Canada).
  • Resolving legacy.

So far Skype dominates this segment, with millions of users around the world, but if comes Facebook with nearly one billion users, things will change and competition will be fierce. The application would make calls via WiFi or data plan, depending on the availability of signal. So far there are no reports of users, but it is likely that Facebook use a technology that, like Skype , improved audio quality compared to a usual phone call.

You can download this app from Facebook if you do not already have it from the App Store at the link below. It's free.
