Apple Ready to Launch a Model of Additional iPad

According to news stories, it seems that Apple may be preparing to launch a new model of iPad only. This would be a new reference number in the current fourth generation iPad with Retina display. We currently do not have information on prices, making it difficult to pinpoint exactly provided by this new model.

Apple may be preparing to release an iPad 4 to 128 GB

This is what we know so far:

  • It is a fourth-generation iPad is not a new design.
  • It will be available with both current color options: white and black.
  • Version will be available in WiFi and WiFi + LTE.
  • This is a new reference number that will join the current line of 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.
  • Be offered in packs of 10 educational institutions.

Yesterday we saw that some developers have found a code in the beta of iOS 6.1 that indicated the possibility of launching iOS devices with 128 GB capacity . Have also seen references to these models in iTunes 11, so naturally, speculation suggests that Apple will launch the fourth-generation iPad with 128GB soon, without waiting to change model.

Here's the new reference number, provided by an Apple retailer in the United States:

The P101 and P103 are the names of internal nomenclature used by Apple for models WiFi and WiFi + LTE fourth generation of the iPad, respectively. Both models come in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. These storage sizes are known as "GOOD", "BETTER" and "BEST", respectively. As seen in the chart above, Apple is preparing to launch model "ULTIMATE". "Ultimate" usually refers to the highest capacity model in the range. The "A" indicates the black model and "B" the white model.

IPad Mini could be a new, but has not heard anything about this.

You may simply have added a new reference number to refer to the iPad aimed at government agencies, retail or any use (that Apple has already done before with other product lines). It is also possible that this new model also includes some different characteristics of the 128 GB, but the technical specifications and the feature set of the current iPad does not seem to need an update imminent. The re-design of the iPad is expected this fall.

What do you think? Do you see a need to launch 128GB iPad?
