Now that Sparrow has been acquired by Google and knowing that no longer focus on improving the iPhone app, we need an alternative indie. Mailbox is a promising application, which will be released in the App Store later this year, and we will manage our email accounts easily and quickly. The goal: to improve user navigation and aesthetics of these tools.

Orchestra is the developer who is behind this project. Its CEO, Gentry Underwood, defends the idea that management applications e-mail need to be modernized, as they have styles that take us back decades in time. "It's time to design an application of e-mail that has a modern style and is suited to smartphones and tablets."

For this reason, the touch screen and gestures we make with our fingers will gain greater prominence in Mailbox. With four simple movements can either file a message, do it later, delete it or save it to a folder. All from the same screen, without having to go from one place to another.

A web editor of The Verge has been able to use the application for a few weeks and is described as a perfect combination between Sparrow and Clear.

We are eager to see the debut of this application on the App Store.
