iTunes Store could land in Russia in the coming hours

So far Apple has been taking small steps in Russia: iPhone penetration in the country market is slow and the company still does not have an online music store in the territory. Russia is one of the havens of piracy and Apple wants to end that. Today the California company has invited a small group of people to attend an event related to iTunes to take place in a mall in Moscow.

Invitations have been sent by an Apple PR in the country and could be related to the opening of iTunes Music Store for the Russians. Apparently Apple event planned for late October, but was delayed because of negotiations that the company was having with the major music distribution companies in the country.

The songs on this iTunes Store would have a lower price compared to other countries. According to Techcrunch says the website, each song would cost only 30 to 40 cents.

Another reason for this delay would be the arrival of the iPhone 5 in the country. This morning, Apple announced the launch of its new smartphone in over 50 countries throughout the month of December. In Russia, the device will be released on December 14.
