China Unicom receives 100,000 bookings of iPhone 5 on its first day

China Unicom, the second largest operator in China, and the 22nd largest in the world based on the number of subscribers, stocks opened the iPhone 5 on Monday after learning of the official launch date announced for Dec. 14. The information comes from a report by Sina Tech (via The Next Web), which states that until 16:00 local time, China Unicom had registered a volume of 100,000 reserves the iPhone 5. According to the report the number of reserves corresponds to online bookings only, does not include those held physically in stores operator.

To make a reservation, the Chinese operator does not request any monetary amount. Instead, it requesting personal information such as name, ID number, telephone number and to select the plan that will take the iPhone and the model you want (color and capacity).

Reservations can occur right after reports said that the Apple smartphone had spent his last regulatory hurdle in China, and the official announcement of the launch by Apple.
