Apple could be interested in buying a home automation company

Apple podría estar interesada en comprar una empresa de domótica

Although automation is something that has long been in existence, only now really committed to a simpler integration of all elements of the home. The proliferation of Wi-Fi networks and the launch of smartphones and tablets, home automation makes a much more user-friendly and above all, much cheaper for the user.

As reported by the Wall Street Journa l, Apple could be interested in buying a home automation company in the home called ID8 Group R2 Studios which was created in 2011 by entrepreneur Blake Krikorian.

Last year, the company launched an application for the Android platform that allowed controlling the HVAC system and lighting house wirelessly. R2 Studios also has some patents related to electronic control devices and interfaces.

Apple also has the occasional patent related to this field. For example, a few months ago we saw a patent that transformed to iOS devices in remote controls for televisions, DVR and DVD systems.

With a possible Apple TV in the future, the acquisition of R2 Studios can be very interesting for the Cupertino company. We yet know whether these alleged negotiations are continuing.
