Apple has begun selling its iPad in April and mini iPad worldwide, and although it has created excitement, crowds queuing have been much lower than in the launch of the iPhone, even lower than in the earlier release of the iPad. This is the second release Apple does in the same year, however, reserves itself which worked very well since they started a few days ago.

Rene Ritchie, editor iMore, shares her experience in buying the iPad mini:

"A cold, rainy night in Montreal, but there it was, because that's what I do. We were two people until 7:30 am, time when the queue became about 20 people. Staff at the Apple store vouchers distributed. WiFi only models were available. There was a mini iPad model was not available, namely the 32GB model in white, but the other models were in stock. Employees do not even bother to give vouchers for the iPad in April, as they had plenty of stock.

After a coffee from Starbucks, the store opened at 8 am, and most of us already had our iPad mini at 8:20. "

Yesterday saw the first unboxing in Castilian. On the screen we see the action, but not the same video you see her live. Admittedly, the non-inclusion of a Retina display in the iPad mini worries many potential buyers. According to Ritchie, yes, the screen quality is quite noticeable, especially if you come to use an iPad 3. But while Apple is bound by the laws of physics, the reduction of a screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 at 7.9 inches, reaching 326 dpi, for iPad mini would require backlighting and so much power that would make the iPad mini was much thicker and heavier, which would be contrary to the claims Apple with this device. Probably also increase the cost of production. Miniaturization is not cheap.

The 4-inch Retina display of the iPod touch and iPhone 5 are "only" 1136 x 640 pixels compared, and the iPad 4 Retina is 48% thicker.

We do not doubt that Apple will get one day make a mini iPad with Retina display, but we believe it is best to start with a thinner and lighter device, and then work on improving it.

I have some pictures of the Montreal store launch day of the iPad mini.
