Although not common, there are times when the computer you're connected an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch will not be able to recognize the device. When this happens we have to use different tests to rule out that the error is the computer, software, USB cable before you think you could be facing a failure iDevice itself.

Checks if iTunes does not recognize an iPad or iPhone

The first thing you should try is to close and reopen iTunes . Proof seems quite "rough" but sometimes it works. But this does not resolve anything, we can try to disconnect the device and reconnect both by the end of the cable that connects the device and on the computer side (it is also advisable to try different USB ports).

If these tests have not yielded the desired result, had to restart the device. The first step would be to restart the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and see if it recognizes this way.
