iPhone 5: 1GB of RAM

As usual, Apple has not given us many details about the internals of the iPhone 5 beyond what is listed on page features of the product. We know you have A6 processor, but that's it.

Luckily, some clever people have done some research and found some interesting facts about the new Apple smartphone. For example, have confirmed that the iPhone 5 has 1GB of RAM. From Anandtech indicate:

"Apple did not give many details of its A6 in the presentation of the iPhone 5, but if given a number of Samsung: K3PE7E700F-XGC2. After intense navigation through the Samsung product guide, Brian Klug has discovered the details. The K3P indicates that is a dual-channel LPDDR2 package and 32 bits per channel. The E7E7 gives the density of each DRAM (512 MB per module, a total of 1 GB). The last two characters of the number give us cycle time and the data rate, which is 1066 in this case. "

While 1 GB may not be as much RAM as some of the other phones made by Samsung, is a good update on the iPhone last year I had only 512 MB.iOS is quite ingenious in memory management, but these 512 MB extras will not hurt anyone come.

And this is not all that Anandtech found. They have also discovered that the iPhone 5's A6 processor is brand new, not a refurbished A5 as originally thought. In fact, the site says it is Apple's own creation, designed entirely in Apple.

"I have received some information that suggests a departure from the ARM Cortex A9 in the A5. Given Apple's complete dependence on ARM cores in the past and the performance gains obtained, I concluded that Apple was going to use for SoC A5 dual-core ARM Cortex A15.

But it turns out I was wrong. But I was pleasantly surprised. The A6 is the first SoC in which Apple uses its own design based on the ARMv7 processor. The CPU core is not based on the design of the A9 or A15 ARM, but is creating a kind of Apple. "

Still not sure how many cores we have the A6. Anandtech says it takes two, but not confirmed yet. Nor do we know if the iPhone 5 will be on par with other phones in terms of performance because Apple has not given any information about the speed of the CPU or the GPU.

Surely as a web made available Disassembling iPhone 5 and we find out more inside. It will be interesting to see how it behaves in performance tests against other high-end smartphone. Since then we've seen the videos of the iPhone 5 running not appreciate just going slow.

We look forward to having you to make a good analysis of it.
