Since yesterday we have available for our Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Macs. This new version, apart from integrating Facebook social network also allows us to add our phone number as sender IMessages application. Thus, when the contacts receive a message from us, you can see the phone number instead of the annoying Apple ID or e-mail associated.

When we installed the update and reboot the computer, open when the program asks IMessages automatically assign you our phone number. If you have problems to configure it properly, you'll need to draw on your iPhone and turn auto-IMessages. Once done, re-activate it using your phone number or Apple ID.

Then reopen IMessages on the Mac and you will get the configuration message, or you can add your phone manually from the Preferences menu. So now you have your Mac with Lion Mountain IMessages ready to send using your phone number.
