AT & T is organizing a developer contest to end cell phone use behind the wheel

The telephone operator AT & T turns on a campaign to try to end the use of mobile phones while driving. Behavior that is increasingly common in our daily life that causes more than 100,000 accidents each year. Therefore, AT & T has organized an "App hackathon" which will bring together all those interested in the world of application development.

The aim is to create an application (iOS or Android) to bring solution to this problem. Starting tomorrow at 6 pm to Saturday at 21h, contestants will create an app to end cell phone use while driving from Santa Monica (California). After this period, participants will have a few extra days to tweak their creations.

The event is free to enter and he can deal with any person who is interested. These are the prizes will be distributed:

  • 1st place: $ 20,000
  • 2nd Place: $ 7,000
  • 3rd place: $ 3,000
