Apple is encountering serious problems to nourish your television content. The major television networks in the United States are not the work of sharing your content with Apple so that it takes the "staggering amount" of 30% commission on each sale. So Apple may be looking for other content providers like Epix.
Epix is a platform that currently feeds the catalog Netflix (streaming movie service). Apple wants to sign an agreement with Epix by which let you enjoy movies from Paramount, MGM and Lion's Gate. In this way, Netflix would be without the exclusive Epix which signed a few months ago (the agreement between Epix and Netflix expires next September and it is estimated that Apple TV will be released in December).
At the moment the negotiations between Apple and Epix are in diapers, and just starting. Apple would have to exceed the figure of 200 million dollars that Netflix pays each year for the catalog of Epix. None of the spokesmen for Epix, Apple and Netflix have declined to comment about it.
